February 25, 2021—A new strategic partnership between travel agency network GlobalStar Travel Management and travel technology specialist Snowstorm Technologies is launching a new online booking and travel management platform, along with a hybrid hotel program.
The companies said the oneWURLD Desktop OBT and management offering, available now, is designed for small and midsize corporate travel users. Such users, historically left behind by OBTs designed for large corporate and enterprise users, have become an attractive target market, with providers including AmTrav TripActions, TravelBank, and TravelPerk focusing largely on serving the SME segment.
Meanwhile, the companies' new Above & Beyond hybrid hotel program enables travel buyers to leverage GlobalStar's negotiated rates at more than 35,000 hotels worldwide through traditional channels such as GDS and bed banks and direct connections via API powered by Snowstorm's technology.
Earlier this month, GlobalStar named former American Express Global Business Travel and HRG executive James Stevenson its CEO, effective April 1. Stevenson will succeed current president and CEO Steve Hartwell.
